Post-Modern Sonnet by Josh LaMar I think that good poetry should have a rhythm To it, something that goes on and on by itself Without making you, the reader, aware Of itself. It should also have an image: [Insert image here that is relevant, insightful, Thoughtful and clever, not a list of extraneous Adjectives]. Good poetry should also have Some sort of message or meaning to it; nothing Too didactic or trite or inconsequential, But something that is worth saying: I exist ... In and of myself, for myself. I am not part of some larger picture or project That you can't see, or are not aware of. I simply exist and that is that. Like love.
