where life falls into place,
the center holds,
blue-light bargain-shoppers
subside
and peace pervades 
my piece of earth.  

Do not go gentle into that 
restrictive mindset.  
Rage, rage against the 
destruction of the Ozone.  
Let me breathe 
air without chemicals.  
I defy you, Texaco!

Give me a day 
without time and a 
body without labels.  
O, happy dissenters
leap for joy at the
liberation of a billboard;
rejoice at corporate destruction.  

I will make my own choices.
I will redefine the norm.  
I will picket before the Golden Arches
walking barefoot in the grass.  
I reject the pavement.  
I reject the swoosh.
